Charles Dickens

It's Charles Dickens' two hundredth birthday and ADGE and TNT are touring two productions to celebrate that in spring and a further one in autumn. DAVID COPPERFIELD completes its 8 month tour with a four week national tour of China, while OLIVER TWIST visits South East Asia after a successful run and rave reviews from the UK to Malta and beyond. In autumn we begin DICKENS' CHRISTMAS CAROL tour in October. How can we thank the great Charles enough? His writing is powerful, theatrical and ever relevant. He was the first artist of the industrial age. We embrace his style because our own style is informed by the same urge to entertain and challenge, to mix laughter and tears and to rouse anger at injustice. Happy Birthday Charles!

SAVE THE AMERIKAHAUS MÜNCHEN

SAVE THE AMERIKAHAUS MÜNCHEN The Amerika Haus München has been at its present address, Karolinenpl. 3, 80333 München since 1957. Since March 1979 THE AMERICAN DRAMA GROUP EUROPE has performed here, a relationship going on 33 years. During this time period we have performed more than 150 different plays from noted American, British, French and Spanish authors. We hope in this way we have helped to establish Amerika Haus as a center for multi-cultural activities. These plays were read and studied in the German high schools and often became incorporated into school curriculums.

production pic Much Ado About Nothing

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING is perhaps Shakespeare's most perfect exploration of love. Through the trials and tribulations of a quartet of lovers and their friends and enemies we see love in all its absurdity and splendour, in all its tragedy and stupidity. We are all fools for love, ever were and ever will be.

production pic A MIDSUMMER NIGHT´S DREAM
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most original and popular plays. It has no proper source. Chaucer and Plutarch tell tales of Theseus but Shakespeare borrows little of their stories. Instead Shakespeare takes obvious delight in doing just what he pleases!

production pic KING LEAR

TNT music theatre present an extraordinary production of KING LEAR. This magnificent but unwieldy text is streamlined and sharply focussed to create a unique theatrical event that blends live music, spectacular imagery and thrilling action. production pic OLIVER TWIST

OLIVER TWIST has been described as the first modern novel. It is one of the few novels whose characters have entered into modern myth- Fagin, Bill, Nancy and the Artful Dodger can claim to be some of the best known literary creations outside of Shakespeare. The enormous energy of these characters and the full blooded portrait of the first modern urban nightmare, London, make the story not only exciting and dramatic, but also truly contemporary.

Castle Tours

Since the establishment of our CASTLE TOUR in 1995, it has become a yearly tradition occupying the months of June-September. The tour has featured one production-since 2001 a sheakespearian play performing in some of Europe´s most revered landmarks. And although the actual number of performances on each tour constitute only about 10% of our total touring schedule, one could easly conclude by viewing our website that it is about the only thing we do. Due to the beauty of the venues and their historical importance, they are highlighted on our home page and other forms of publicity.

CASTLE TOUR 2012 stays with the same format as its predecessors in all aspects except one: Due to a variety of reasons, we will be performing three different Shakespeares in seperate segments of the tour: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, KING LEAR, MACBETH. We hope that this "trying to please everyone“ concept will satisfy our varied audiences.

We thank you for your interest and support of our organisation.

Sincerely,

Grantly Marshall
